Getting married in Glasgow? Then I’m guessing you’ve searched for wedding photographer Glasgow and that’s hopefully how you found me.
I’m Ruth, the person behind Ruth Charlotte Photography. I’m a wedding photographer with years of experience capturing weddings across Glasgow, Ayrshire and throughout Scotland. My job is to tell the story of your wedding in a way that feels true to you.

From the biggest moments to the quietest details, I’m there with my camera to capture it all.
Wedding photography should reflect who you are as a couple. It should feel natural, relaxed and full of warmth and fun. I want your photos to bring you back to how it really felt from the laughter, the nerves, the joy, to the overall celebration.
One of the most common things I hear from couples is, “We’re not great in front of the camera.” That’s completely normal. Most people aren’t used to being photographed all day. My approach is designed to help you feel comfortable and confident without the pressure of performing.
I specialise in getting fun, vibrant, candid wedding photos in the most relaxed way possible for you and your guests. That means I’ll gently guide you when needed for some of the wedding pictures but will also blend into the background and let things unfold naturally. This is also why I sometimes recommend having a second photographer to work with me, as it allows us to capture your wedding from so many different perspectives, including moments you might have missed yourself on the big day.
My goal is for you to actually enjoy the photography part of your day. By the time we’re finished, most couples tell me they were surprised by how much fun they had and how easy it all felt. That’s exactly what I want: genuine smiles, real emotions, and photos you truly love.
Although I’m based in Ayrshire, I photograph weddings across Scotland, and Glasgow holds a special place in my heart. It’s a brilliant city to get married in, with an incredible mix of venues, styles and locations.
Some of the most popular wedding venues in Glasgow include:

Outside the city but still popular with Glasgow couples are venues like Fruin Farm, perfect for couples who want a rustic setting with views over Loch Lomond, and Cornhill Castle, which offers sweeping views and a fairytale setting near Biggar. Paisley Abbey, located in the nearby town of Paisley, is a stunning choice for religious ceremonies. It’s full of character, with beautiful stained glass and a calm, timeless feel inside that works really well for photographs.
These venues each offer something different, whether you’re planning a big city celebration or a more intimate wedding day. From traditional churches and quirky converted spaces to parks and registry offices, Glasgow has something for everyone.
Wherever you’re getting married, I’ll work with you to make the most of your location. I’m always happy to suggest nearby photo spots if you’re not sure where to start.

Glasgow is a beautiful city, but we all know the weather can be unpredictable. If it rains on your wedding day, don’t worry. I’ll always have a plan.
Some of the best photos come from unexpected weather. We might find a quiet indoor spot, make use of covered areas, or head out with umbrellas if you’re feeling brave. Rain can actually add a romantic, storybook feel to your images.
Whatever the forecast, we’ll make it work. A little rain won’t take away from the joy of your day, and we’ll still capture beautiful photos that reflect the atmosphere and emotion.
Choosing a wedding photography package is an important part of planning your day, and I aim to keep it simple and clear. I offer a range of options to suit different wedding styles, timings and budgets.
