I’m Ruth – the face behind Ruth Charlotte Photography. I’m a wedding photographer with years of experience shooting weddings across Ayrshire, Glasgow and all over Scotland, and my job is to capture your day in a way that feels completely you.
From the biggest moments to the quiet wee details (the hand squeeze, the “are we actually doing this?” look), I’m there with my camera to capture it all.
Wedding photography should reflect who you are as a couple. It should feel natural, relaxed and full of warmth and fun. I want your photos to take you right back to how it really felt – the laughter, the nerves, the joy, and the full-on celebration.

One of the most common things I hear from couples is, “We’re not great in front of the camera.” That’s completely normal. Most people aren’t used to being photographed all day (unless you’ve got a secret side hustle as a model… in which case, fair).
My approach is designed to help you feel comfortable and confident without the pressure of performing. I specialise in fun, vibrant, candid wedding photos in the most relaxed way possible for you and your guests. That means I’ll gently guide you when needed for a few of the wedding pictures, but I’ll also blend into the background and let things unfold naturally.
This is also why I sometimes recommend having a second photographer. It lets us capture your day from more perspectives – including moments you might miss yourself (like your pals absolutely committing to the dance floor far earlier than expected) Let’s hope your guest are wild because those dancing pictures are amazing! .
My goal is for you to actually enjoy the photography part of your day. By the time we’re finished, most couples tell me they were surprised by how relaxed it felt and hilarious as we will have such a good laugh. That’s exactly what I want: genuine smiles, real emotions, and photos you truly love.

Enterkine is one of those venues that feels like you’ve escaped to the countryside… but it’s still really doable for guests travelling in. It’s in the heart of Ayrshire, minutes from Glasgow Prestwick Airport and roughly 35–40 minutes from Glasgow, which is ideal if you’ve got people coming from all over.
A few reasons it photographs so well:
This is a biggie for couples who want to keep everyone together. Enterkine offers rooms in the main house plus lots of extra options across the estate (including lodge/cottage-style stays — some with hot tubs).
Translation: less taxi admin, more time actually enjoying your wedding weekend.

One of the best things about Enterkine is you can get a real mix of backdrops without vanishing from your guests for ages.
Some of my go-to ideas (depending on your timeline, the light, and how “outdoorsy” you’re feeling):
If you’re not sure where to start, don’t worry — I’ll help you plan photo time that suits your day and doesn’t turn into a 90-minute photoshoot marathon.
Rain doesn’t ruin your wedding photos. Enterkine is great for wet-weather plans because you’ve got solid indoor options and loads of spots we can use without battling the elements for too long. And if you’re up for it, umbrellas + a quick dash outside can look ridiculously romantic and fun.
Whatever the forecast, we’ll make it work. A little rain won’t take away from the joy of your day – and we’ll still capture photos that feel like you.

Choosing a wedding photography package is an important part of planning your day, and I aim to keep it simple and clear. I offer a range of options to suit different wedding styles, timings and budgets.
You can view all of my packages, pricing and details on my Wedding Packages page (plus a brochure you can download). Whether you’re planning a full-day wedding at Enterkine or something smaller and intimate, you’ll find an option that fits.
Each package includes professional editing and access to a private online gallery where you can download and share your high-resolution images. Depending on the package you choose, additional options may also be available.
If you’re not sure what you need yet, just get in touch – I’m happy to talk it through.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings all over Scotland, and no two are ever the same. Each one brings its own magic – the teary vows, the full-on belly laughs, and that one mate who hits the dancefloor like they’re going for a medal.
You can have a nosy through a selection of my work on my Portfolio page. It’s the easiest way to get a feel for my style and the kind of real moments I’m always looking out for.

If you’re planning your wedding at Enterkine and you’re looking for a photographer who’ll keep things relaxed and personal (and not make you do anything cringey), I’d love to hear your plans.
Get in touch through my website or email and I’ll let you know if your date is available. Whether you’re all booked in or still in the “500 tabs open” stage, I’m always happy to chat.
